Texas Roadhouse Steak Seasoning is a flavorful blend of coarse kosher salt, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, paprika, chili powder, and black pepper. It’s used to generously season steaks, enhancing their taste and tenderness, perfect for grilling high-quality cuts like Ribeye and Filet Mignon.

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

How to Make Texas Roadhouse Steak Seasoning:

  1. Combine Ingredients:
  • In a Ziploc bag, combine the coarse kosher salt, brown sugar, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, paprika, chili powder, and black pepper. Seal the bag tightly.
  1. Mix Seasoning:
  • Shake the bag thoroughly to ensure all the ingredients are evenly mixed.
  1. Season the Steak:
  • Generously and evenly cover all sides of the steak with the seasoning mixture. Allow the steak to sit for about 40 minutes. This resting period lets the salt penetrate the surface, breaking down muscle fibers for a softer, more tender steak.
  1. Grill the Steak:
  • Preheat your grill. Once hot, place the seasoned steak on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes until it is browned and slightly charred.
  1. Flip and Cook:
  • Flip the steak over and continue to cook:
    • For medium-rare: cook for an additional 5 minutes.
    • For medium: cook for an additional 7 minutes.
    • For well-done: cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  1. Serve:
  • Once the steak is cooked to your desired doneness, remove it from the grill and serve immediately.

Notes:

  • Adjusting Salt: Taste the seasoning mix before applying it to ensure it has the right balance of salt. Adjust as needed.
  • Choosing Steaks: For the best results on the grill, choose high-quality cuts such as Filet Mignon, Porterhouse, N.Y. Strip, or Ribeye steaks.
  • Alternative Seasoning: If preferred, you can substitute the seasoning with 4 tablespoons of Lawry’s seasoning salt, 1 tablespoon of black pepper, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, and 1 tablespoon of garlic salt.
  • Serving Suggestions: This steak pairs perfectly with smooth and creamy homemade mashed potatoes and brown gravy. This combination is a family favorite that enhances the delicious flavors of the steak.

Enjoy your Texas Roadhouse Steak with your favorite sides and relish the delightful flavors!
