Irresistible Salted Caramel Crack Bites

These Salted Caramel Bites are the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and crunchy, making them an addictive treat that’s perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients and minimal effort, you can whip up a batch of these delicious bites that will disappear in no time. Whether you’re serving them as a snack, dessert, or party treat, they’re sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.

Ingredients:

  • Oyster crackers: These small, bite-sized crackers serve as the perfect base for the caramel coating.
  • Butter: Adds richness and flavor to the caramel mixture.
  • Brown sugar: Provides sweetness and depth of flavor to the caramel.
  • Vanilla paste or extract: Infuses the caramel with warm, aromatic vanilla flavor.
  • Kosher salt: Balances out the sweetness of the caramel and adds a delightful salty contrast.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Spread the oyster crackers in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a large pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and vanilla paste or extract, stirring until the brown sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Increase the heat to bring the mixture to a boil, stirring continuously for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes bubbly and lighter in color. The aroma will be heavenly!
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and quickly pour the caramel mixture over the oyster crackers, using a rubber spatula to gently mix until all the crackers are fully coated.
  6. Sprinkle the kosher salt evenly over the top of the caramel-coated crackers.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning. The crackers should be golden brown and fragrant when done.
  8. Allow the Salted Caramel Bites to cool completely on the baking sheet before serving or transferring to an airtight container for storage.

Tips:

  • Be sure to keep an eye on the caramel mixture as it boils, as it can quickly go from golden brown to burnt if left unattended.
  • For an extra indulgent treat, you can drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled Salted Caramel Bites or sprinkle them with chopped nuts for added texture and flavor.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Enjoy them straight out of the container or reheat them in the oven for a few minutes to restore their crispiness.
