This homemade version of the iconic Shamrock Shake brings together creamy vanilla ice cream and cool peppermint for a festive green treat that’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any day you’re craving a minty dessert. The shake comes together quickly and can be easily customized with extra toppings for added flair!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract (or more to taste)
  • Green food coloring
  • Optional Toppings: Whipped cream, maraschino cherries, sprinkles

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the ice cream, milk, peppermint extract, and a few drops of green food coloring.
  2. Blend until smooth, adjusting milk to reach desired consistency.
  3. Pour into glasses, garnish with whipped cream, cherries, or sprinkles as desired, and serve immediately.

Tips

  • Adjust the Mint Flavor: Peppermint extract can be strong, so start small and taste as you go.
  • Consistency Control: For a thicker shake, reduce the milk slightly; for a thinner texture, add a bit more milk.
  • Vibrant Color: A couple of drops of green food coloring should be plenty, but adjust to your preferred shade for a fun and festive touch.
