Indulge in the delightful sweetness of Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, a classic dessert known for its caramelized pineapple topping. This recipe combines a moist cake base with the tropical flavor of pineapple, creating a visually appealing treat that is perfect for any occasion.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup liquid milk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 100 grams butter
  • 1 can pineapple slices

For Burnt Sugar:

  • Sugar (for melting)
  • Water (1 cup)
  • Butter (small piece)

How to Make:

1. Burnt Sugar:

  • In a saucepan, melt sugar until it caramelizes.
  • Add water and a small piece of butter, stir for 6 minutes, and then turn off the heat.

2. Cake Preparation:

  • In an electric mixer, combine butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, followed by flour and liquid milk.

3. Mold Preparation:

  • Grease the sides of the mold with butter and flour to prevent sticking.
  • Pour the burnt sugar into the mold.
  • Arrange round pineapple slices on top of the burnt sugar, using a little juice from the can.
  • Pour the cake mixture over the pineapple slices.

4. Baking:

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Bake the cake in the preheated oven for approximately 40 minutes.

5. Cooling and Serving:

  • Remove the mold from the oven and let it cool.
  • Once cooled, invert the cake onto a serving plate, allowing the pineapple layer to be on top.

Tips:

  1. Caramelization: Achieve a rich caramel color when melting the sugar for the burnt sugar base. Be cautious to avoid burning.
  2. Mold Greasing: Ensure thorough greasing of the mold to facilitate easy release of the cake after baking.
  3. Pineapple Arrangement: Arrange pineapple slices in a visually pleasing pattern for an attractive presentation.
  4. Cake Testing: To check if the cake is done, insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.
  5. Inverting the Cake: Allow the cake to cool before inverting it onto a serving plate to maintain its shape.

Enjoy the sweet and fruity goodness of this Pineapple Upside-Down Cake!
