This One-Pan Garlic Butter Chicken is a quick and delicious meal that combines tender chicken pieces with vibrant asparagus in a rich, buttery garlic sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner, this dish is packed with flavor from Italian seasonings, a hint of lemon, and a touch of heat from sriracha. The best part is it all comes together in one pan, making cleanup a breeze.

Tips:

  1. Chicken: Cutting the chicken into bite-sized pieces ensures quick and even cooking.
  2. Butter: Be cautious not to burn the butter. Keep the heat at medium-low initially and adjust as needed.
  3. Garlic: Adding the garlic in stages prevents it from burning and becoming bitter.
  4. Asparagus: Cook the asparagus to your preferred level of tenderness, but avoid overcooking to maintain a slight crunch.
  5. Serving: This dish pairs well with rice, quinoa, or a simple green salad to soak up the flavorful sauce.

Ingredients:

Chicken Seasoning:

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (see note)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasonings
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 lb asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon Italian parsley, minced

Instructions:

  1. Season the Chicken:
  • Place the chicken pieces in a medium bowl. Add the salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper. Toss to coat the chicken evenly with the spices.
  1. Cook the Chicken:
  • In a large skillet, melt 1/4 cup of the butter over medium-low heat with the olive oil.
  • Add the seasoned chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until all sides are golden brown, being careful not to burn the butter.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and the Italian seasoning. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  1. Prepare the Sauce:
  • In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high. Add the remaining 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  • Add the chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  • Add the remaining 1/4 cup of butter, lemon juice, and sriracha. Stir to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer.
  1. Cook the Asparagus:
  • Add the trimmed asparagus to the skillet. Cook until the asparagus reaches your desired level of tenderness, about 3-5 minutes depending on thickness.
  1. Combine and Serve:
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, stirring to coat with the sauce. Cook for another minute to reheat the chicken thoroughly.
  • Garnish with minced parsley and lemon slices.
  • Serve hot, pairing with rice, quinoa, or a simple green salad to enjoy the full flavors of the dish.

Enjoy this quick and flavorful One-Pan Garlic Butter Chicken for a delightful and easy dinner that’s sure to become a favorite!
