Indulge in the comforting flavors of an Old-Time Oven Peach Cobbler. This classic dessert captures the essence of simplicity and homey goodness. The Bisquick-based crust creates a perfect balance between soft and crisp, while the sugared peaches infuse the cobbler with natural sweetness. The addition of nutmeg and cinnamon provides warm, aromatic undertones, making every bite a delightful experience.

Old-Time Oven Peach Cobbler

Ingredients:

  • 1 large can of sliced peaches, drained
  • 1 cup Bisquick mix
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • Vanilla Ice Cream (optional)

How to Make:

  1. Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  1. Prepare Baking Dish:
  • In an 8 x 8 baking dish, stir together Bisquick mix, milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined. Add melted butter and mix thoroughly.
  1. Prepare Peach Mixture:
  • In a medium mixing bowl, gently stir sugar into the drained sliced peaches until they are well-coated.
  1. Assemble Cobbler:
  • Spoon the Bisquick mixture into the baking dish, creating a crust at the bottom.
  • Spread the sugar-coated peach slices evenly over the cobbler crust.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake for 45 minutes to one hour or until the crust turns a golden brown. The delicious aroma will fill your kitchen.
  1. Optional: Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream:
  • For an extra indulgence, serve the warm cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The contrast of warm cobbler and cold ice cream is heavenly.

Tips:

  • Adjust the sugar quantity based on the sweetness of the peaches and your personal preference.
  • Experiment with different spices to customize the flavor profile; cloves or ginger can add a unique twist.
  • Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving to let the flavors meld.
  • For a rustic touch, consider arranging peach slices in a decorative pattern.
  • Share this timeless dessert with family and friends during gatherings or enjoy it as a sweet ending to a cozy meal.
