Mouth-Watering Meatloaf

Indulge in the comforting flavors of homemade meatloaf with this Mouth-Watering Meatloaf recipe. Made with lean ground beef, aromatic herbs, and a savory ketchup glaze, this classic dish is sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp onion, diced
  • 2 slices potato bread (or bread of your choice)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh sage
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground mustard
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup ketchup

How To Make Mouth-Watering Meatloaf:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking.
  2. Prepare Beef Mixture: In a large bowl, mix together the lean ground beef, minced garlic, and diced onion until well combined.
  3. Add Bread and Milk: Tear the potato bread into small pieces and add them to the beef mixture. Pour in the milk and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Season and Mix: Add the chopped fresh sage, salt, ground mustard, pepper, and the egg to the beef mixture. Mix all the ingredients together until well integrated.
  5. Shape and Glaze: Transfer the beef mixture to an ungreased baking pan. Shape it into an 8×4-inch loaf directly in the pan. Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the loaf, creating a flavorful glaze.
  6. Bake: Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake the meatloaf uncovered for 50 to 60 minutes. The meatloaf is ready when the meat and juices are no longer pink, and a meat thermometer inserted in the center of the loaf reads 160°F (71°C).
  7. Rest and Serve: Once baked to perfection, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to settle. Carefully remove the meatloaf from the pan and cut it into slices.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the Mouth-Watering Meatloaf slices on individual plates and enjoy the delicious homemade goodness with your favorite sides.

Tips:

  • For added flavor, consider using seasoned breadcrumbs instead of plain bread slices.
  • Feel free to customize the recipe by adding other herbs or spices, such as thyme or smoked paprika, to suit your taste preferences.
  • Leftover meatloaf slices can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat them in the microwave or oven before serving.
