Get ready to delight your taste buds with this mouthwatering Italian Crescent Casserole recipe! Perfect for busy weeknights or as a crowd-pleasing dish for gatherings, this savory casserole is sure to become a family favorite. With simple ingredients and easy preparation, it’s a recipe that anyone can master.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup Three Cheese Pasta Sauce (feel free to use your favorite pasta sauce)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1½ cups shredded Italian cheese blend (6 oz)
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil leaves

How To Make Italian Crescent Casserole:

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a skillet, combine the cooked ground beef with the pasta sauce. Heat the mixture to boiling over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  2. Assemble the Casserole: Separate the crescent dough into 8 triangles. Place the dough in an ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate in a spoke pattern, with the narrow tips overlapping the rim of the plate by about 3 inches. Press the dough into the sides and bottom of the plate to form a crust. Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded Italian cheese blend over the dough. Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the cheese.
  3. Form the Casserole: Bring the tips of the dough over the filling to meet in the center, making sure not to overlap them. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheese and the dried basil over the top.
  4. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Bake the casserole for 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Recipe Tips:

  • Customize the recipe by adding your favorite ingredients to the filling, such as diced bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, or olives.
  • For a lighter version, you can use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese to vary the flavor. Mozzarella, provolone, or fontina cheese would also work well in this dish.
  • Serve the Italian Crescent Casserole with a side salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
