HERSHEY’S SYRUP BROWNIES offer a rich and fudgy chocolate experience with the unmistakable flavor of Hershey’s syrup. The addition of nuts, both in the batter and as a topping, adds a delightful crunch to complement the chewy texture. The fudge-like icing enhances the overall chocolatey goodness, making these brownies an irresistible treat.

HERSHEY’S SYRUP BROWNIES

Ingredients:

For Brownies:

  • 1/2 cup butter (no substitutes, melted in microwave)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 (16 ounce) can Hershey’s syrup
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

For Icing:

  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted (no substitutes)
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to Make:

  1. Preparation:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease the bottom of a 10 by 15-inch pan.
  1. Making the Brownie Batter:
  • Melt the butter in the microwave and cream it together with granulated sugar.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Incorporate vanilla extract.
  • Mix in flour until well combined.
  • Stir in Hershey’s syrup and, if desired, add chopped nuts.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  1. Preparing the Icing:
  • In the microwave, bring to a boil the butter, cocoa, and 1 tablespoon of milk.
  • In a mixing bowl, add confectioners’ sugar. Pour the cocoa mixture over the sugar and beat well.
  • Add vanilla extract and the remaining milk, adjusting for desired spreading consistency.
  1. Icing the Brownies:
  • Allow the brownies to cool for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Spread the prepared icing over the brownies.
  • Optionally, sprinkle with additional chopped nuts.
  • The icing will harden to a fudge-like consistency.
  1. Cooling and Serving:
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them into squares.

  1. Testing Doneness: Use the toothpick test to ensure the brownies are thoroughly baked. Insert a toothpick into the center, and it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  2. Icing Consistency: Adjust the amount of milk in the icing to achieve the desired consistency. Add a little at a time until you reach the perfect spreading texture.
  3. Nuts Variation: Customize the recipe by choosing your favorite nuts or omitting them altogether based on personal preference.
  4. Cooling Time: Allowing the brownies to cool completely before cutting ensures neat squares and helps the icing set to perfection.
