Indulge in the taste of the South with this classic Georgia Peach Cobbler. Freshly sliced peaches nestled in a sweet and buttery batter create a comforting dessert that captures the essence of summer. The golden crust, rich in flavor, complements the juicy peaches, offering a delightful contrast in every bite.

Georgia Peach Cobbler

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 stick melted unsalted butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk

How to Make Georgia Peach Cobbler:

Step 1: Preheat Oven

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2: Prepare the Baking Pan

  1. Pour melted unsalted butter into the center of a 9″ x 13″ baking pan, ensuring an even coating; avoid stirring the butter into the pan.

Step 3: Mix Dry Ingredients

  1. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Slowly pour in milk and vanilla extract, stirring until the mixture is well combined.

Step 4: Pour Batter Over Melted Butter

  1. Pour the batter mixture over the melted butter in the baking pan, without stirring.

Step 5: Prepare Peach Filling

  1. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, sliced peaches, and lemon juice. Heat over high heat, stirring until the sugar is fully melted, and the peaches release their juices.

Step 6: Pour Peach Mixture Over Batter

  1. Drizzle the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir; let it naturally distribute.

Step 7: Bake Until Golden

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the surface of the cobbler turns golden.

Step 8: Serve Warm

  1. Once baked, allow the Georgia Peach Cobbler to cool slightly, and serve it warm.

Tips:

  • Fresh Peaches: Use ripe and juicy fresh peaches for the best flavor.
  • Buttery Base: The melted butter creates a rich, buttery base for the cobbler.
  • Serve Warm: Enjoy the cobbler at its best by serving it warm. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.

Share the warmth and flavor of the South by serving this Georgia Peach Cobbler at gatherings or family dinners. It’s a timeless dessert that brings the sweetness of peaches to the forefront.
