Easy Peach Dumplings

These Easy Peach Dumplings are a delightful and simple dessert perfect for any occasion. Made with canned peaches wrapped in crescent roll dough, then baked in a buttery cinnamon-sugar sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream, this dish offers a comforting and delicious treat that will impress your family and guests.

Ingredients:

  • 2 (15-ounce) cans peaches, drained
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups Sprite or citrus soda
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and thoroughly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  1. Prepare Crescent Dough:
  • Open the crescent roll packages and separate the dough into triangles.
  1. Assemble Dumplings:
  • Place one or two peach slices (depending on their size) at the wide end of each dough triangle. Sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon.
  • Roll the dough around the peach slices, starting from the wide end and moving toward the point, ensuring the peach is completely enclosed.
  • Place the assembled dumplings into the prepared baking dish. Repeat with the remaining dough and peach slices.
  1. Make Butter Mixture:
  • Melt the butter in a large bowl and combine it with the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and remaining cinnamon. Mix until smooth.
  1. Add Butter Mixture and Soda:
  • Using a large spoon, pour the butter mixture evenly over the dumplings.
  • Pour the Sprite around the edges of the dish, avoiding the tops of the dumplings to ensure a crispy crust.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and crispy on top.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve the peach dumplings warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.

  • Dough: Ensure the dough is securely wrapped around the peaches to prevent them from unrolling during baking.
