This Easy Fresh Fruit Salad combines a vibrant mix of seasonal fruits with a simple, fragrant vanilla cinnamon dressing, making it a refreshing and crowd-pleasing choice for any occasion. The delicate sweetness of the syrup, with its hint of vanilla and warmth from cinnamon, enhances each fruit’s natural flavor without overpowering it. Whether enjoyed at brunch, a picnic, or a summer barbecue, this salad is easy to prepare and visually stunning. Serve it immediately for the freshest, most delicious experience!

Ingredients

For the Fruit:

  • 11 ounces mandarin oranges (1 can, drained)
  • 1 cup grapes, halved
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 1 cup blueberries

Vanilla Cinnamon Dressing:

  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vanilla Cinnamon Dressing:
  • In a small saucepan, bring the water, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon sticks to a boil.
  • Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved, then remove from the heat and let the syrup cool completely.
  • Once cool, remove the cinnamon sticks.
  1. Combine the Fruit:
  • In a large bowl, add all the prepared fruits.
  1. Toss with Dressing:
  • Pour a portion of the vanilla syrup over the fruit (you may not need all of it) and gently toss to combine.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve the fruit salad immediately for the freshest flavor and texture.

Tips for the Best Fresh Fruit Salad

  • Choose Ripe, Fresh Fruit: Select fruit that is ripe but firm to maintain texture after tossing.
  • Chill Before Serving: To serve extra refreshing, refrigerate the fruit for about 30 minutes before adding the dressing.
  • Adjust Sweetness: Use less syrup if you prefer a lightly sweetened salad. Save any extra syrup for drinks or desserts!

This fruit salad is a versatile and nutritious way to showcase fresh produce, with a light, aromatic syrup that makes it feel extra special. Perfect as a side dish or light dessert, it’s a guaranteed hit for any gathering!
