This Double Chocolate Coca Cola Cake is a true indulgence, combining the rich flavors of cocoa and Coca Cola for a moist and flavorful dessert. Topped with a creamy chocolate frosting, it’s a treat that’s sure to satisfy any chocolate lover’s cravings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Coca Cola
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Frosting:

  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 6 tablespoons cream or milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 3/4 cups confectioner’s sugar

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cake:
  • In a saucepan, combine Coca Cola, oil, butter, and cocoa. Bring to a boil.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together sugar, flour, and salt.
  • Pour the boiling Coca Cola mixture over the flour mixture and beat well.
  • Add eggs, buttermilk, baking soda, and vanilla. Beat until well combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before frosting.
  1. Prepare the Frosting:
  • In a saucepan, combine butter, cocoa, and milk. Heat until the butter melts.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and confectioner’s sugar until smooth.
  • Spread the frosting evenly over the warm cake.

Tips:

  • Make sure to use real Coca Cola for the authentic flavor of this cake.
  • Don’t overmix the batter to avoid a dense cake texture. Mix until just combined.
  • Allow the cake to cool slightly before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting too much.
  • For an extra chocolatey twist, you can sprinkle chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips on top of the frosting.
