This Crock Pot Cube Steak recipe is a simple, flavorful, and comforting dish perfect for a weeknight dinner. The slow-cooked cube steaks become incredibly tender and are enveloped in a creamy, savory sauce made from cream soups and Lipton Onion Soup Mix. This meal is easy to prepare and pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes and a green vegetable.

Ingredients:

  • 6 cube steaks
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and sliced into rings
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 1/2 soup can of water
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Onions:
  • Peel and slice the onion into rings. Separate the rings for layering.
  1. Season the Steaks:
  • Salt and pepper each cube steak to taste.
  1. Layer the Ingredients:
  • Place 2 cube steaks in the bottom of your crock-pot.
  • Top the steaks with a layer of onion rings.
  • Repeat this process, layering the remaining cube steaks and onions. This layering helps keep the steaks separate and prevents them from merging into one mass.
  1. Prepare the Sauce:
  • In a separate bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, and 1/2 can of water until well combined.
  • Pour the soup mixture evenly over the layered steaks and onions in the crock-pot.
  1. Add the Seasoning:
  • Sprinkle the Lipton Onion Soup Mix over the top of the soup mixture.
  1. Cook the Steaks:
  • Cover the crock-pot with the lid and set it to low heat.
  • Let the cube steaks cook for 6-7 hours. Your kitchen will fill with a delicious aroma as the meal slowly cooks.
  1. Serve:
  • Once the cooking time is complete, serve the tender cube steaks with a side of mashed potatoes to enjoy the savory gravy.
  • Add a salad or a green vegetable to complete the meal.

Tips:

  • Soup Variations: If you prefer, you can substitute the cream of celery soup with cream of mushroom soup for a different flavor profile.
  • Serving Suggestions: This dish pairs excellently with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles to soak up the delicious gravy.
  • Extra Vegetables: You can add sliced mushrooms or bell peppers to the layers for added texture and flavor.
  • Thickening the Gravy: If you prefer a thicker gravy, you can mix a little cornstarch with water and stir it into the sauce in the last hour of cooking.

Enjoy this easy and hearty Crock Pot Cube Steak that will surely become a family favorite!
