- 2 large eggs, beaten + 1 tbsp water
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (regular paprika can be used if smoked is unavailable)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
Honey Garlic Sauce:
- ½ cup honey
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 3 tbsp cold water
Instructions:
- Prepare Honey Garlic Sauce: In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic. Stir until well blended. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
- Coat Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In another bowl, whisk together beaten eggs and water. Dip each chicken cutlet into the egg wash, then coat with the seasoned flour mixture.
- Fry Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated chicken cutlets and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Coat with Sauce: Transfer the fried chicken to a bowl with the honey garlic sauce. Toss until the chicken is well coated in the sauce.
- Serve: Serve the crispy honey garlic chicken hot and enjoy the delicious flavors!
Tips:
- Ensure the oil is hot enough before adding the chicken to achieve a crispy coating.
- Don’t overcrowd the skillet when frying the chicken to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper in the flour mixture according to your preferred level of spiciness.
- Serve the chicken with steamed rice or your favorite side dishes for a complete meal.
