These Baked Buffalo Wings are the ultimate appetizer for any occasion, offering all the flavor and crispiness of classic wings without the need for frying. Coated in a light mixture of flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and spices, these wings bake up golden and crispy in the oven. Tossed in tangy buffalo sauce and finished under the broiler, they come out irresistibly crispy, spicy, and packed with flavor. Perfect for game days, gatherings, or whenever the craving strikes!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 ½ tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp seasoned salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups buffalo sauce, store-bought or homemade

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  1. Dry the Wings
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels; this step is key to achieving a crispy texture.
  1. Season the Wings
  • In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with flour, baking powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt, and black pepper. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
  1. Arrange on Baking Sheet
  • Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with foil, then place a sheet of parchment paper on top. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the parchment paper.
  1. Optional Chill Time
  • If you have extra time, refrigerate the wings for 30 minutes to help them crisp up even more during baking.
  1. Bake the Wings
  • Bake the wings for 20 minutes, then flip them and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  1. Coat with Buffalo Sauce
  • Remove the wings from the oven, pour the buffalo sauce over them, and toss to coat evenly. Slide the parchment out from under the wings.
  1. Broil for Crispiness
  • Turn the oven to broil and broil the wings until they’re golden and the sauce is bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.

Tips for Perfect Buffalo Wings

  • Pat the Wings Dry: Drying the wings thoroughly helps the coating adhere and ensures crispiness.
  • Baking Powder Trick: Adding baking powder to the seasoning mix helps the skin crisp up without frying.
  • Broil Carefully: Broil the wings just long enough for a crispy, saucy finish. Keep a close eye on them to avoid burning.
  • Serve Fresh: These wings are best served immediately to enjoy their crispy, saucy perfection.

These Baked Buffalo Wings deliver restaurant-quality flavor and texture right from your oven—ideal for any gathering!
