This Cinnamon Bread recipe offers a delightful twist on traditional bread, infusing it with warm cinnamon flavor and a sweet swirl throughout. Perfect for breakfast or as a comforting snack, this bread is moist, tender, and bursting with aromatic cinnamon goodness.

The addition of buttermilk lends a slight tanginess to the bread while keeping it moist and flavorful. The cinnamon swirl adds a delightful contrast of sweetness and spice, creating a beautifully marbled pattern throughout the loaf.

Serve slices of this cinnamon bread warm with a pat of butter for a cozy morning treat, or enjoy it toasted with a cup of coffee or tea. It’s a simple yet satisfying recipe that’s sure to become a household favorite.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Ingredients for the Cinnamon Swirl:

  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Unsalted Butter, melted

How To Make Cinnamon Bread:

  1. Preheat and Prepare:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour a loaf pan to prevent the bread from sticking.
  1. Mix the Batter:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, salt, buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and pure vanilla extract. Use an electric mixer to beat the ingredients for about 3 minutes until well combined and smooth.
  1. Pour and Smooth:
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, ensuring it’s evenly distributed. Use an offset spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth the top of the batter.
  1. Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl:
  • In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and melted unsalted butter to create the cinnamon swirl mixture.
  1. Add the Swirl:
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly over the top of the batter in the loaf pan.
  1. Create the Swirl Pattern:
  • Use a knife to cut through the batter in a light swirling motion to create a marbled effect with the cinnamon swirl mixture.
  1. Bake:
  • Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
  1. Cool and Serve:
  • Once baked, remove the cinnamon bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the loaf pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve the bread once cooled.

Tips:

  • Be careful not to overmix the batter, as this can result in a tough texture.
  • Use a toothpick to test for doneness by inserting it into the center of the bread; if it comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs, the bread is ready.
  • For extra indulgence, consider adding a drizzle of icing or glaze over the cooled bread before serving.
