Cinna-bun Cake brings the irresistible flavors of a classic cinnamon bun into a delightful cake form. The soft and fluffy base, swirled with a cinnamon-infused topping, is finished with a sweet vanilla glaze, making it a perfect treat for any occasion.

Cinna-bun Cake

Ingredients:

Base:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Topping:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make Cinna-bun Cake in the oven!

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9 x 13 baking pan by greasing it with butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all the base ingredients except for the melted butter. Add the melted butter last and then pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together all the topping ingredients until well combined. Drop spoonfuls of the topping evenly over the base. Use a butter knife to swirl the topping into the base, creating a marbled effect.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 28-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl. Set aside.
  6. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven. While it’s still warm, drizzle the glaze over the cake, spreading it evenly.

Tips:

  1. Even Topping Distribution: When dropping the topping onto the base, try to distribute it as evenly as possible for a balanced flavor in every bite.
  2. Swirling Technique: Use a butter knife to gently swirl the topping into the base. This creates a beautiful marbled pattern and ensures a consistent taste throughout.
  3. Glazing Warm Cake: Glazing the cake while it’s still warm allows the glaze to seep into the cake, enhancing its moisture and flavor.
  4. Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container to maintain the freshness of the cake. It can be reheated for a warm and gooey experience.
  5. Serving Suggestions: Enjoy this Cinna-bun Cake with a cup of coffee or tea for a delightful breakfast or dessert.
