Cinna-bun Cake is a delightful twist on the classic cinnamon roll, offering all the delicious flavors of a cinnamon bun in cake form. This easy-to-make recipe features a moist and fluffy cake base infused with vanilla and cinnamon, topped with a creamy cinnamon-brown sugar mixture, and drizzled with a sweet vanilla glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert, this Cinna-bun Cake is sure to become a favorite treat for cinnamon lovers everywhere.

Ingredients:

  • For the Cake: All-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, milk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract.
  • For the Topping: Softened butter, brown sugar, all-purpose flour, cinnamon.
  • For the Glaze: Powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract.

How To Make It:

  1. Prepare the Cake: Preheat the oven and grease a 9×13 baking dish. In a mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for the cake and blend until smooth. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  2. Make the Topping: In another mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy. Drop spoonfuls of the topping mixture over the cake batter in the baking dish. Use a butter knife to swirl the topping through the cake batter.
  3. Bake the Cake: Bake the cake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, about 40-45 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Glaze: While the cake is baking, mix together the ingredients for the glaze until smooth.
  5. Finish and Serve: Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake, allowing it to set before serving.

Recipe Tips:

  • Be sure to properly grease the baking dish to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • Use room temperature ingredients for the cake batter to ensure even mixing and a tender crumb.
  • When swirling the topping into the cake batter, aim for a marbled effect for a visually appealing presentation.
  • Allow the cake to cool slightly before adding the glaze to prevent it from melting too quickly.
  • Serve the Cinna-bun Cake warm or at room temperature for the best flavor and texture. Enjoy as a breakfast treat, afternoon snack, or dessert.
