Chocolate Trifle is a decadent and visually stunning dessert that layers rich brownies, creamy chocolate pudding, and luscious whipped cream. The combination of textures and flavors creates a delightful treat for chocolate lovers.

Chocolate Trifle Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (19.8 oz) brownie mix
  • 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces)
  • 1 container (8 ounces) chocolate-covered, thawed
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped cream, thawed
  • 1 (1.5 ounce) candy bar (for garnish)

Preparation Time: 30 minutes Cooking Time: 25 minutes Ready to Serve: 8 hours 55 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions and allow it to cool completely. Once cooled, cut the brownies into 1-inch squares.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate pudding mix, water, and sweetened condensed milk. Blend until smooth. Add 8 ounces of the thawed whipped cream and mix until streaks disappear.
  3. In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish, create layers by placing half of the brownie squares at the bottom, followed by half of the pudding mixture, and then half of the chocolate-covered, thawed container. Repeat the layers for the second half, finishing with 12 ounces of whipped cream on top.
  4. Garnish the trifle by shaving chocolate over the final layer.
  5. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours before serving.

Tips:

  • Brownie Variation: Experiment with different brownie flavors, such as dark chocolate or fudge, to personalize the trifle.
  • Pudding Options: While the recipe uses chocolate pudding, consider trying variations like white chocolate or dark chocolate for a unique twist.
  • Layering Technique: Ensure an even distribution of ingredients by layering the brownies, pudding, and whipped cream carefully. This creates a visually appealing and delicious trifle.
  • Garnish Choices: Besides chocolate shavings, you can garnish with chopped nuts, berries, or additional candy for added texture and flavor.
  • Make-Ahead: Chocolate Trifle benefits from being prepared in advance, allowing the flavors to meld. Plan ahead for special occasions or gatherings.

This Chocolate Trifle is a show-stopping dessert that makes any occasion extra special. The layers of chocolatey goodness create a delightful sensory experience, making it a perfect choice for indulgent celebrations. Enjoy!
