Indulge in these rich, fudgy Chocolate Chip Brownies, packed with semi-sweet chocolate chips and a hint of coffee for depth of flavor. Perfect for chocolate lovers, these brownies are a delightful treat that combines the best of both worlds: the chewiness of cookies and the gooeyness of brownies. Easy to make and even easier to enjoy, these brownies are sure to become a favorite in your dessert rotation.

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup water or coffee (for added richness)
  • Two 12-ounce bags semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan:
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  • Line a 9×13-inch pan with aluminum foil for easier cleanup and spray with cooking spray. Set aside.
  1. Melt the Butter and Sugar:
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, and water or coffee.
  • Bring to a simmer over medium heat, whisking continuously until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved. It’s okay if the mixture remains slightly grainy.
  1. Add the Chocolate Chips:
  • Turn off the heat and add 12 ounces of the chocolate chips to the saucepan.
  • Whisk until the chocolate chips have melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Transfer the mixture into a large mixing bowl.
  1. Mix in the Wet Ingredients:
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture.
  • Whisk vigorously until the mixture is smooth and shiny.
  1. Incorporate the Dry Ingredients:
  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the bowl.
  • Gently stir to combine, being careful not to overmix.
  1. Fold in More Chocolate Chips:
  • Add the remaining 12 ounces of chocolate chips and stir to combine.
  1. Bake the Brownies:
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for about 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs but no raw batter. Avoid overbaking to keep the brownies fudgy.
  1. Cool and Serve:
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 30 to 60 minutes before slicing.
  • For neat slices, ensure the brownies are completely cool before cutting.

Tips

  • Use Coffee for Depth: Using coffee instead of water enhances the chocolate flavor without making the brownies taste like coffee.
  • Don’t Overmix: Stir the batter just until the ingredients are combined to avoid tough brownies.
  • Cooling Time: Letting the brownies cool completely before slicing ensures clean cuts and better texture.
  • Storage: Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.

These Decadent Chocolate Chip Brownies are a perfect treat for any occasion. Whether you’re sharing them with friends or indulging in a sweet moment alone, they’re sure to satisfy your chocolate cravings. Enjoy!
