Description:
This Cheesy Tortellini Bake is a quick and satisfying dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights or casual family dinners. Tender tortellini coated in a rich, flavorful sauce and topped with melty mozzarella cheese create a comforting meal that’s ready in no time. With just three simple ingredients, it’s an easy go-to recipe when you’re craving something cheesy and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs tortellini (cheese-filled or your favorite variety)
  • 1 jar of marinara or pasta sauce (about 24 oz)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes

1. Prepare the Tortellini:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the tortellini and cook according to the package instructions (usually about 3-5 minutes for fresh tortellini).
  3. Drain the tortellini well and set aside.

2. Assemble the Bake:

  1. Preheat your oven to broil on high.
  2. In a large baking dish, combine the cooked tortellini and jar of sauce. Toss until the tortellini are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the mixture into an even layer and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese generously over the top.

3. Broil to Perfection:

  1. Place the baking dish under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
  2. Keep a close eye on it to prevent the cheese from burning.

4. Serve and Enjoy:

  1. Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy with garlic bread or a side salad for a complete meal.

Tips for Success:

  1. Choose Your Tortellini:
    • Use cheese-filled tortellini for a classic flavor, or try meat or spinach-filled varieties for a twist.
  2. Enhance the Sauce:
    • Stir in cooked ground beef, Italian sausage, or sautéed veggies (like mushrooms, zucchini, or bell peppers) for added heartiness.
  3. Cheese Variations:
    • Mix it up by adding shredded Parmesan or a sprinkle of Italian seasoning over the mozzarella for extra flavor.
  4. Make It Ahead:
    • Assemble the dish in advance, cover it with foil, and store it in the fridge. Broil just before serving for a quick, fresh dinner.
  5. Customize Toppings:
    • Garnish with fresh basil, chopped parsley, or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for added color and flavor.

This Cheesy Tortellini Bake is simple to prepare yet loaded with comforting, cheesy goodness. It’s a surefire hit for pasta lovers of all ages!
