Experience a burst of flavors with this Cajun Honey Butter Salmon recipe, where succulent salmon fillets are seasoned with a tantalizing blend of Cajun spices and glazed with a luscious honey garlic butter sauce. This dish strikes the perfect balance between sweet and savory, making it an irresistible option for any dinner table. Plus, it’s incredibly quick and easy to prepare, requiring just one skillet and about 15 minutes of your time.

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets, seasoned with salt to taste
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • Cajun seasoning blend:
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons paprika (smoked paprika for added depth)
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper (or 1/2 teaspoon finely ground black pepper)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

How To Make Cajun Honey Butter Salmon:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the Cajun seasoning ingredients.
  2. Beat the butter with an electric hand mixer for about 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Blend the honey and cream in a blender until smooth, then combine with 1 tablespoon of the Cajun seasoning (store any remaining seasoning in an airtight container for future use).
  4. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel, then season them with salt and pepper.
  5. Grill the salmon fillets for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until opaque and nicely charred.
  6. Once cooked, generously spread the Cajun Honey Butter mixture over each salmon fillet using the back of a spoon.
  7. Allow the butter to melt for about 30 seconds, then flip the fillets and repeat the process on the other side.
  8. Optionally, garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley before serving.

Tips:

  • Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning according to your preference for spice level.
  • Ensure the salmon fillets are thoroughly dried before seasoning to achieve a crispy exterior.
  • Be careful not to overcook the salmon to maintain its moist and tender texture.
  • Serve this flavorful salmon dish with a side of rice or roasted vegetables for a complete and satisfying meal.
