Better than Texas Roadhouse Rolls are a delightful treat, embodying the perfect balance of sweetness and warmth. The addition of honey and cinnamon infuses these rolls with a rich, comforting flavor that makes them stand out. The dough’s rise results in a light, fluffy texture, making these rolls a favorite for various occasions.

Serve these rolls as a side to complement hearty meals or enjoy them on their own with a generous spread of butter. The enticing aroma and soft, pillowy texture make these rolls a crowd-pleaser, earning them a special place at your table.

Better than Texas Roadhouse Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 8-9 cups plain flour
  • 8 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (110-115 degrees)

How to Make:

  1. Activate Yeast:
  • In a suitable bowl, combine yeast, warm milk, and honey.
  • Stir the mixture until the yeast dissolves and let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbles appear on the surface.
  1. Add Ingredients to Mixer:
  • Add ground cinnamon to the yeast mixture and stir.
  • Transfer the mixture to a dough mixer, add 6 tablespoons of melted butter, eggs, and 4 cups of flour.
  • Stir until the mixture is smooth.
  1. Knead the Dough:
  • Add the remaining flour and salt to the mixer and knead for 7-9 minutes until the dough is sticky and elastic.
  1. First Rise:
  • Grease a suitable bowl with a spoon of butter, place the dough in it, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until it doubles in size.
  1. Shape and Prep for Baking:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and brush it with melted butter.
  • Sprinkle some flour on the work surface, knead the dough lightly, and shape it into balls with a diameter of about 6 cm.
  1. Bake:
  • Place the shaped pieces on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  1. Serve:
  • Allow the rolls to cool, and serve after brushing them with melted butter.

Tips:

  • Warm Place for Rising: For an ideal rise, place the covered dough in a warm place. You can use a slightly warmed oven or create a warm environment by placing a bowl of warm water nearby.
  • Even Baking: Ensure even baking by arranging the rolls on the baking sheet with enough space between them. This allows for uniform browning.
  • Serve Warm: These rolls are best enjoyed warm. Consider reheating them briefly before serving to maintain their softness.
