These BBQ wings with homemade sauce are a crowd-pleasing favorite, perfect for game days, backyard barbecues, or casual gatherings. Made with a blend of Sweet Baby Ray’s and Open Pit barbecue sauces, along with honey, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and spices, these wings are bursting with flavor. Whether broiled, slow-cooked, or baked in the oven, they are sure to be a hit at any event.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken wings
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
  • Open Pit barbecue sauce
  • Honey
  • Brown sugar
  • Prepared mustard
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Onion salt
  • Tabasco (optional)

How To Make It:

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Rinse the chicken wings and pat them dry. Remove and discard the wingtips. Sprinkle the wings with salt and pepper and place them on a broiler pan or baking sheet lined with foil.
  2. Broil the Wings: Broil the chicken wings for 20 minutes, turning them once during the middle of broiling, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, combine the Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce, Open Pit barbecue sauce, honey, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion salt, and Tabasco (if using). Stir until well combined.
  4. Cook the Wings: Transfer the broiled chicken wings to a slow cooker. Pour the sauce over the wings, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Alternatively, you can place the chicken in a foil-lined baking dish, coat with sauce, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 350°F. Turn the wings over, coat them again with sauce, and bake for another 30 minutes.

Recipe Tips:

  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil or bake them for a few additional minutes after coating them with sauce.
  • Adjust the amount of Tabasco to suit your spice preference.
  • Serve the BBQ wings with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
  • These wings can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving. Just store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
