This Baked Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken combines savory and sweet flavors for an easy and delicious dinner. The brown sugar caramelizes as it bakes, creating a sweet glaze that perfectly complements the garlicky, tender chicken breasts. It’s a simple yet flavorful dish that comes together quickly, making it perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F and spray a casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  1. Sauté the Garlic:
  • Heat the olive oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until translucent and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to let it brown as this could create a bitter taste. Set the garlic aside.
  1. Prepare the Chicken:
  • Place the chicken breasts in the prepared casserole dish, and season both sides with salt and pepper to taste.
  1. Make the Brown Sugar Mixture:
  • Mix the brown sugar into the sautéed garlic, stirring until combined into a sticky paste.
  1. Top the Chicken:
  • Evenly distribute the brown sugar and garlic mixture over the top of each chicken breast, making sure each one is well-coated.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake, uncovered, in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F) and the top is caramelized.

Description and Tips:

This baked garlic brown sugar chicken offers a perfect blend of sweetness and savory notes. The garlic provides a rich, aromatic base, while the brown sugar creates a delicious glaze as it bakes. For added flavor, you can customize the dish by adding a sprinkle of paprika, or chili flakes for a kick of heat. Serve this chicken with rice, roasted vegetables, or a side salad to complete the meal.
