Craving pizza but short on time? This 10-Minute Skillet Pizza is the perfect solution. Using fresh pizza dough and a few simple ingredients, you can have a delicious, homemade pizza ready in no time. The cast iron skillet ensures a crispy crust, while the gooey mozzarella and pepperoni provide classic, comforting flavors. Garnish with fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness. Ideal for a quick lunch, dinner, or even a snack!

Ingredients

  • Pizza Base:
  • 1 pound fresh pizza dough, at room temperature for 1 hour (store-bought or homemade)
  • Flour, for dusting the surface
  • Toppings:
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup pizza or marinara sauce, or as desired
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 15 pepperoni slices, or as desired
  • Fresh parsley, optional for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
  • On a floured work surface, roll out the dough into a circle about 10 to 12 inches in diameter. If the dough is too springy and hard to roll, let it rest at room temperature for an additional 30 minutes.
  1. Preheat the Skillet:
  • Heat a 12-inch cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil to the skillet.
  1. Cook the Dough:
  • Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough to the hot skillet. Cook the dough on one side until it is lightly browned, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  1. Flip and Add Toppings:
  • Flip the dough over and reduce the heat to low. Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges. Evenly distribute the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices over the sauce.
  1. Melt the Cheese:
  • Cover the skillet with a lid and cook until the cheese has melted, about 2 to 3 minutes. For a more browned and bubbly cheese, you can place the skillet under the broiler for about 2 minutes. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  1. Garnish and Serve:
  • Optionally garnish with fresh parsley. Serve the pizza immediately while it’s warm and fresh.

Tips

  • Dough Temperature: Ensuring the dough is at room temperature makes it easier to roll out and prevents it from shrinking back.
  • Broiling: If you prefer a more browned and bubbly cheese, using the broiler for a couple of minutes will give you that perfect finish. Just be sure to watch closely to avoid burning.
  • Variations: Feel free to customize your toppings. Add vegetables, different cheeses, or your favorite meats to make this pizza your own.
  • Serving Size: This recipe makes one pizza, ideal for about 2 to 3 servings depending on appetite. You can adjust ingredient quantities if making more than one pizza.

Enjoy your quick and delicious skillet pizza, perfect for any pizza craving in a hurry!
